We have an Isaiah 61 mission. It is a 7-fold mission that the primary purpose of the Assembly. It is the same sense of mission Jesus announced in Luke 4. We pray, fast, give and serve that The Spirit of the Lord is on us.

1) The proclamation of the Good New of salvation . We pray, fast, give and serve that more and more of Pittsburgh will experience the New Birth in a relationship with God.

2) The mending of broken hearts. Hearts are broken with fractured relationships, but the power of the Gospel brings changed lives.

3) The victory our freedoms in Christ from condemnation, guilt, sin, death and hell.

4) The release of more people from darkness toward the light of life in Jesus Christ.   5) The experience of the favor and grace of the Lord to grow in the Holy Spirit, and respond to the conviction of sin that displeases God.

6) This is a place of praise and joy to dispel despair with worship in the spiritual presence of God. SHA is a place where hurting people who need the Lord can find God's purpose and guidance and encouragement in all things that pertain to life.

7) South Hills Assembly is God's place where people are trained develop spiritual maturity , planted deep in the things of God, to show God's glory in serving Him.

There are four purposes for purposes of "Together Advance the Mission ":

1) build the disciplines of fasting, prayer, serving and giving,

  2) teach Christlike generosity toward God in the support of SHA's Storehouse of many ministries,

  3) release more human and financial resources into ministry, and so

  4) help fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.

God is calling us to invest our lives in the Gospel, the only thing in the world that transforms a person's life and alters his or her destiny. The most compelling purpose in life, the greatest cause that you can give your life for, is found in the family of God.

As you look at last years' ministries, there were only five, that were supported with over a $24,000 for the year from the tithes to the church, out of almost 90 ministries. However, when the $1 million debt is cancelled on this Ministry Center , that will release $24,000 a month to advance the Isaiah 61 mission of ministry.

We've set a target date of June 2009 to cancel the debt, when the mortgage must be paid off or a new one begins. It's feasible and achievable, but we must give our best support to "Together Advance the Mission ."

The best way to advance the mission of God is a together effort. I challenge us to 100% participation. Together we advance the mission. Thank you for the Godly sacrifice of praying, fasting, giving and serving.
