The price of Christmas is not calculated in the cost of your gifts,

but in the size of your love .

I. The Amazing Power of Christmas Love wins the battle for personal integrity in a fallen culture. Verse 18 says, Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child.

There's always been a connection between our personal righteousness and God's hand of blessing. 1 Peter 3:12 says, For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayers, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil .

II. The Amazing Power of Christmas Love wins the battle over intense disappointments in life. Matthew wrote, Because Joseph was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he decided to call off their engagement quietly .

III. Joseph's love for God and his love for Mary won the first Christmas.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16, NIV).

"It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh, that is, in this life, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me" (Gal. 2:20).
