I. What is a worldview?

Your worldview is the overall perspective from which you see, act and interpret the world. It reflects your primary concern in life – the way you think much of the time. Your worldview determines how you will make most of your choices. As a result, your worldview has consequences for good or bad.

God will give you all you need from day to day

if you make the Kingdom of God your primary concern. Luke 12:31

As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7

II. What are the prevalent worldviews?

In America there are eight popular worldviews. Each worldview has some beneficial element, otherwise, they wouldn't be seriously considered by anyone.

1. “I've got to think of Me First .” This worldview is called individualism .

Serving defeats the false god of selfishness on the throne of your life.

2. “More, more, more.” It's called materialism -- the chief thing that really matters in life is the acquisition of things.

Jesus taught that generosity the breaks the grip of materialism on our lives.

3. “Do whatever feels good.” This is called hedonism -- just living for pleasure.

Are you addicted to thrills? What an empty life.

The pursuit of pleasure is never satisfied (Proverbs 21: Msg) .

4. “Whatever works for you.” It's called pragmatism .

There is a way that seems right for a man but in the end it leads to death (Proverbs 21:

5. “God doesn't exist. Or if He does, He doesn't matter.” This worldview is called atheism , or agnosticism.

#Bertrand Russell was an atheist, but there's one thing I do agree with him. He said if you remove God, then the purpose of life is irrelevant .

From the beginning of creation God has shown what He is like by all He has made. That's why those people don't have any excuse . They know about God but they don't honor Him or even thank Him. They claim to be wise, but they are fools (Ro. 1:20-22 10-11 ) .

The fool has said in His heart ‘There is no God.'

6. YOU are your own God.” That worldview is called humanism, or postmodernism, or New Age, with some variations.

Postmodernism says truth is based on personal preference and choice, and one person's choice is just as good as another person's.

7. There's idol -worship. Romans 1: They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and they worshipped created things rather than the Creator .

8. “God is involved in the world .” It's a belief in God as the One who is involved in this world. The Bible calls that Theism .

Polytheism is like the old Greek and Roman gods that are part human and part divine-- myths .

Monotheism:

•  Judaism is salvation based on legalism .

•  Islam is salvation based on legalism .

•  Sadly, much Christianity is salvation based on legalism .

•  True Christianity is salvation based on grace .

When anyone becomes a Christian, he becomes a new person inside.

The old passes away, a new life has begun (2 Corinthians 5:17)
