Ephesians 5:15-17

"Your Life Is What You Make It"

Meet the Pastors

Volunteer Opportunities

Eph 5:157: Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.

What is your greatest ability? It is your choice for responsibility. In that sense, your life is what you make it.

Because you have that power of choice, you are “ response- able .”

You're responsible where you have respond- ability .

Phillips Paraphrase of verse 15, Live life with a sense of responsibility, not as those who don't know the meaning of life, but as those who do.

Responsibility is the great developer of your character

I. There are at least three foes of responsibility:

A. Accusers don't take responsibility for what they did, but blame others. Every time a person blames someone else for their own irresponsible choices, they are building their own irresponsible lifestyle .

B. Selfishness . Selfishness is a foe of responsibility.

Stewardship is the fact that God put every person on the earth to be the manager of the resources and time that he has and be responsible for it. We are accountable to God.

The Bible says we're responsible for our time. Ephesians 5 says, Make the most of every opportunity.

Jesus tells us in the book of Matthew, "People will be responsible for every careless word they've said . . You are responsible for your words .

1 Corinthians 6:6, "You were bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your bodies." We're responsible for our health , and what we do with our bodies.

The Bible says we're accountable for how we use our resources, our finances. The Bible says, Let your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God (2Cor 9:11).

II. How can we become more responsible?

A. Stop idolizing irresponsible people.

B. By choosing the best kind of responses .

C. By guarding your mind . TBS As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.

D. By admitting your mistakes . Proverbs 28:13 says "A man who refuses to admit his mistakes can never be successful. But if he confesses and forsakes them, he gets another chance .

Now God declares us not guilty if we trust in Jesus Christ who freely takes away our sins."
